THE SLIDING GATE COLLECTION - MANUAL AND POWERED

OVERVIEW:
Of course I include sliding gates in my
portfolio. However, there are so many
combinations of width, height,
construction and use the description is
A more general form than other data
sheets. Let's just say we can do what
is wanted 2m to 70m as a pair of gates.

USE:
Sliding gates for all sites and purposes.

SIZE
Sliding gates come in three distinct types

Cantilevered or free carrying
Theoretically, gates of this type can be engineered for openings up to 18m, but they have to be made in one unit so cannot be joined on site. Therefore, transportations becomes an issue. Generally for exporting 9m clear opening is about the maximum. The drawback space is approx 4/3 of the roadwidth. Gates can be powered or manually operated.

On track
This design of gate can be used when supplied in pairs to close openings up to 70m because they can be made in transportable units and joined on site. The entrance has to be level. The drawback space is typically 1.50m more than the roadwidth. Gates can be powered or manually operated.

Telescopic Gates
There are 2, 3, or even 4 gate leaves to give telescopic arrangement. The main advantage is the speed of opening exceeds that of a single leaf gate for the same opening and the drawback space is equally reduced.

All the above gates, normally up to 2.4m high to suit standard transportation. Higher gates available with horizontal transport joint.

CONSTRUCTION:
This is a general description for reasons given in overview. Lower rail special profile to contain rollers. Side stiles and top rail square or rectangular section. Infill 30mm (facing) x 20mm, 30mm x 30mm, mesh 200mm x 50mm, mesh 75mm x12.5mm, profile sheet and others to suit specifiers requirement.

DRIVE
Drive units of electromechanical type housed in guide post or separate cabinet on the inside of the gate. Power single or 3 phase depending on size and usage.

CONTROLS
- Push button open-stop-close
- Alternative key switch for gate house operation.
- Additional key switch in drive unit post for local operation
- Card system - swipe/proximity/magnetic in freestanding post for cars, or cars and trucks 2 tier, intercom unit and hand set
- Induction loop - auto close, auto exit

SAFETY OPTIONS
- Rubber safety buffer fitted to gate edge and guide post as standard for powered gates.
- Electronic eye beam between guide and closing post.
- Red/green traffic lights on freestanding post

FINISH
Gates galvanised and with two coats of plastic over zinc. The finish on these gates is of the highest quality and corrosion protection developed jointly with the auto industry

INSTALLATION
Sliding gates on track require a below ground in-situ, unreinforced concrete beam to the full opening and drawback area, with slot to accept the ground track which is grouted in place. Guide posts, motor and closing post bolt down. Free carrying gates bolt down to level concrete slab with no civil works required across the roadway.
