USE: This type of fence is used where the primary function is to define boundaries as it is
much lighter than our medium or high security fences. However, with the smaller mesh aperture it becomes a very
competitive security fence for long runs such as airfields.
SIZE
The fence height is up to 2.83m in increments of 200mm.
For normal commercial use 2.4m high is recommended
CLADDING: Welded mesh panels up to 3m wide with mesh aperture 200mm x 50mm or 200mm x 40mm for the latter for special orders only.
Standard panel heights nominally 1m, 1.2m, 1.8m.,2m, 2.4m, and 2.8m.
Wire sizes - vertical wires 4.5mm diameter, 50mm or 40mm apart and horizontal wires 5.5mm diameter, which is the recommended standard but 4.5mm also available.
Lateral strengthening by pressed 'V' beams, two per panel up to 1.4 high and three or four for higher panels.
POSTS
The section of posts depend on fence height but typically for 1.8m above ground, 50mm x 50mm RHS. Larger for higher fences.
No straining posts required for this type of fence construction.
For sloping ground where panels are stepped posts should be correspondingly longer.
FIXINGS
Mesh panels fixed to posts with clamps at 300mm c/s.
SECURITY TO TOP OF THE FENCE:
- Single 45° or double Y-shaped arm for three
rows of twin strand barbed wire at 150mm centre.
This type of fence, because of its rigidity is highly suitable for attaching fence mounted electrified integrated detection system Click here to link
FINISH
Alternative protection coatings to mesh panels.
- Galfan coated wire to BE EN 10244 - 2.2001 for special orders only.
- Class A (zinc/aluminium alloy weight 275gm/mē) giving high level of corrosion protection
- Commercially Galvanised wire to BE EN 10244 - 2.2001 Class D
- Polyester powder coated over galvanised core
POSTS
- Hot dipped galvanised
- Polyester coated over galvanised
- Painted
INSTALLATION
Posts into foundations suitable for fence height, but typically with average depth 600mm x 300mm square or diameter for fence height 1.8m. Post set in concrete foundations.
